Join Our Playgroup: Helpful Info

ALL exploration and stages of play are welcomed! Some children like to wander and dive into activities at their own pace. It is important to remember that children are sponges and they are ALWAYS learning! They will often demonstrate/ mimic things learned when they are ready.

What should I bring?

  • Dress in weather appropriate attire. We love messy play, so hold the fancy clothes please

  •

  • A blanket to sit on, a bottle of water and snacks if you would like!

  •

  • An open mindset ready to be silly & learn through play!

Make-Up Classes

Credits and refunds not offered for classes missed by families.
If a session needs to be canceled by the teacher without rescheduling, families are eligible for a refund for the canceled session.

At the end of the 9 week session I will offer one bonus class as a " make- up day class".

Weather Issues

Class will continue in light rain/ scattered showers- puddle play is fun!

However, if I need to cancel class due to weather

The teacher will update families at least 90 minutes prior to class by email and text message.
Whenever possible, the session will be offered at another time, either on another day later that week or later in the season.

Are there refunds?

If a refund is requested BEFORE the season of classes begins, families can receive a full refund or credit towards a future class. I put a lot of time and expenses into the lessons, materials, securing the park etc. Unfortunately once the session begins, there are no refunds.

How are photos used?

Wild Footsteps uses photographs to illustrate learning concepts and promote outdoor play and playful learning on our website or in other materials/media. Before we would use any photo in that way, we would reach out directly to the parent of the child(ren) in the photo and secure their permission.
Parents often choose to share pictures of their kids at play across social media, as they do with many other kids activities. Those choices are up to the individual parent.

Learning Environment

How do teachers create a secure learning vibe in the classroom? Think of each student as an intrepid explorer, with their trusty sidekick (parent or caregiver) by their side. Teachers team up with these sidekicks to make sure the classroom is a safe space for adventurous learning. To keep things shipshape, leaders bring a trusty First Aid Kit just in case any accidents happen.

Classroom Rules

-Explorers (children) can explore on their own as long as they can still see or hear their guide or the Leader.
-If explorers are taking physical risks, we check in to make sure that they feel sturdy and safe in their risk-taking.
-Leaders encourage children to engage in risky play, but give clear redirection if or when safety and the safety of friends in the class could be compromised
